9 Women We Want to See Win At Love

Although these single ladies are far too fabulous to ever need a man, we would really like to see them find their Mr. Right and make a fierce trip down the aisle.

By Charli Penn · March 31, 2015October 27, 2020
01
Jordin Sparks

After two very public splits with exes Jason Derulo and Sage the Gemini, we’re hoping to see singer Jordin Sparks rebound in a big way. Gemino recently penned an epic love letter to his ex, but there doesn’t seem to be a reunion anywhere in site.

Sanaa Lathan

The Perfect Guy star has been romantically linked to some of Hollywood’s hottest men, including Omar Epps, Tyrese and Kobe Bryant. But through it all, fans still haven’t seen Sanaa rock a wedding dress. We already know that she’s a great catch and any man would be lucky to call her his woman, we’re just waiting to see which lucky guy she chooses to be Mr. Lathan.

Mariah Carey

Back in 2009, Carey opened up to Larry King about the mental and emotional abuse she’d experienced in a past relationship, “Abuse has several categories, emotionally, mentally, in other ways. I just think you get into a situation, and you feel locked in — if your situation is similar to one of the situations I’ve been in, which I won’t harp on. … For me, to really get out, it was difficult because there was a connection that was not only a marriage but a business thing, where the person was in control of my life.”

Brandy

We think it’s time for Brandy to find happiness in love once and for all. The “Boy is Mine” singer admitted a few years ago that she lied about her marriage to her former boo and baby daddy Robert Smith out of fear of judgement for having a child out of wedlock. And in 2014, Brandy called off her wedding to music exec Ryan Press after an 18-month engagement. Through it all, we know that one day, Brandy will find the right boy to be hers and we can’t wait to see who he is. (Even if she has sworn off of dating for now.)

Paula Patton

Paula, we are rooting for you. This actress and mama of one’s very public divorce from her high school sweetheart singer, Robin Thicke, was finalized in 2015. The couple stood together through thick(e) and thin until last year, when they shocked fans by suddenly annoucing that they were calling it quits. Details around the split are murky, but Robin (who has repeatedly begged Paula to come back) has admitted to being drunk and high during the height of his “Blurred Lines” fame. One thing is for sure, though: The next guy to scoop up Paula is guaranteed to be a very, very lucky man.

06
Regina King

Our hearts broke once we heard that Regina had split with her beau of two years, Malcolm Jamal-Warner. (We really liked them together.) The notoriously quiet couple had been friends since the 80s when they were both child stars on 227 and The Cosby Show. Sources say that Jamal “wasn’t feeling it anymore,” and Regina hinted in an interview with Us Weekly that he had dumped her on Valentine’s Day. We know the right man is out there, and we can’t wait to see the lucky guy who gets to call this leading lady his wife.

Taraji P. Henson

This mama has it all: The Oscar-nominated actress has starred in numerous top films, has a new hit TV show and is the proud and fierce parent to a 21-year-old son. But it wasn’t always so sunny for the Empire actress. In 1997, just two years after her son was born, her boyfriend was brutally murdered. She suddenly found herself as a single mother living on welfare. Taraji has spent her life dealing with hardships and taking care of everyone else so we think she deserves a man who will come in and sweep this superwoman off of her feet. Don’t you? Most recently Taraji has been linked to NFl player Kelvin Hayden, although the couple seen to be staying mum about their relationship status.

Rihanna

Bad Girl RiRi deserves nothing but the best. Even though she’s not even out of her 20s, the ANTI singer has already endured more relationship hardships than any woman should have to deal with, including a very public split from her ex, Chris Brown, who was found guilty of domestic abuse. She found the strength to leave that unhealthy relationship and has been on top of the charts (and winning at life!) ever since. We’re devotees to her luxe Instagram, and we’re all eagerly waiting to see future wedding pics with her TBD-hubby show up on her feed one day.

Sherri Shepherd

It seemed like after her first divorce, Sherri had found her happy ending with her second husband of three years, TV writer Lamar Sally. But amidst her success on The View and on Broadway, her relationship at home unraveled in what ultimately turned into a very public and very messy divorce (the two were preparing to welcome a baby boy that they had via a surrogate). But Sherri hasn’t let the legal battles surrounding the child get her down. Through it all, she’s still laughing, working and embracing motherhood, and somewhere out there, there’s a man who will appreciate her, her history and her unwavering grin just the way they are.
