The three performers are the first to be confirmed for the annual awards show.
Adele, nominated for 7 VMAs, will be making her first appearance, while Chris returns for a second performance following a memorable one in 2007. Meanwhile, the British blue-eyed soul singer is currently sitting pretty on the UK charts after being certified 10x platinum.
Other VMA nominees include Beyonce, Kanye West, and Nicki Minaj.
The 29th annual VMAs air August 28th at 9pm.
