Perhaps the nation’s capital should also be dubbed the City of Brotherly Love, at least for this Father’s Day weekend.
One million fathers have been invited to stand united at Lincoln Memorial on Saturday, June 20, to participate in the National Rally for Responsible Fatherhood on Behalf of America’s Children in honor of the centennial anniversary. The National Partnership for Community Leadership (NPCL) along with 40 other prominent fatherhood organizations nationwide will cohost the rally where fathers will take an oath of commitment to their kids and families to be responsible.
This united front comes a day after President Obama holds his first Town Hall meeting on fatherhood on Friday, June 19.
Attendees will enjoy performances by Grammy Award-winning and multiplatinum-selling group All 4 One, the Native American ensemble, Standing Buffalo singer, Colurs Performing Arts Group and more. Invited guests include award-winning journalist and founder of “Daddy’s Promise” and other notables.—KNB
