Brooklyn-born, Detroit-raised singer Aaliyah, who was affectionately known as the "Princess of R&B", died at the young age of 22. Aaliyah and eight others lost their lives when their plane crashed after the Bahamas video shoot for “Rock the Boat” in 2001.

Dreams do come true: MAC Cosmetics just announced that it will release a line of cosmetics inspired by the late R&B icon Aaliyah.

In an Instagram post, the cosmetics giant said that it heard the cries of fans who wanted a piece of the songtress' legendary '90s style and now, they've kindly obliged.

"Aaliyah is truly one in a million," they wrote. "An unstoppable icon whose groundbreaking work in R&B music and film inspires us all. Today we join her countless fans in celebrating her with the announcement of the M.A.C Aaliyah collection. You made it happen! Stay tuned in 2018."

Fans of the singer had long rallied for a line inspired by the artist, who was a loyal user of MAC during her time on earth.

Last year, petitions popped up across the Internet after the late Mexican-American singer Selena Quintinilla-Perez received her own collection of lip products.

While we have yet to get a detailed list of products and colors, we're sure the line will give rich hues and pigments that it will be melanin-friendly. We can't wait for summer 2018!
