To be young and in love! Congratulations are in order for YouTube couple De’arra Taylor and Ken Walker, better known to their digital family as “DK4L,” who just got engaged.
De’arra Taylor, 23, and Ken Walker, 25, made a name for themselves on the world wide web as a couple, documenting everything from their international bae-cations to their many hilarious pranks. They’ve been dating about five years and have taken their 5.7 million subscribers along for the ride. While on vacation in Santorini, Greece, Ken pulled off the surprise of a lifetime for his sweetheart by popping the question during a picture-perfect sunset.
Walker vlogged the entire process for their joint YouTube account. During the opener of the proposal video titled “The Question,” he dedicates the video to De’arra, letting her and the world know just how much she means to him. “De’arra, you already know where we are,” he says. “I love you to the ends of the earth no matter what. Good, bad or ugly, it doesn’t matter. I’m going to love you forever and ever.” The video continues, showing us highlights from Ken and De’arra’s relationship over the years and how his elaborate proposal plan unfolded.
We then see Ken asking De’arra’s grandparents for their blessing. The couple then jetted off to Greece, and Ken ensured De’arra dressed her best for the surprise to come.
The couple headed to a rooftop for what De’arra thought would just be dinner for two. Ken agreed to take some photos of her as the sunset. When she turned around, there Ken was, down on one knee.
“I couldn’t be happier and though I say that, you always find ways to make it possible for me to be even happier,” Ken wrote on Instagram, sharing the news. “I’m in it for the long run and now I want you to share my last name. I love you with all my heart and I’m grateful for the love you have given me. I am the man I am today because of you. A future Mrs.Walker in the making…”
De’arra shared the video showing her unfiltered reaction to the proposal, writing, “I was so damn nervous.. my heart literally dropped to ass. My armpits started sweating & I started touching my hair every second😭😂 however this moment was so beautiful & I couldn’t be more happy.”
De’arra also revealed that the proposal actually went down on August 19th, even though they’re just now sharing the details.
