Personal trainer and group fitness instructor Tiffany Robinson married the soul mate she prayed for, Philadelphia Eagles defensive end Darryl Tapp, on February 20, 2010 at Disney World’s Wedding Pavillion. Take a look at their storybook wedding.
When Darryl met Tiffany, he was playing for the Seattle Seahawks. He joined the Philadelphia Eagles on March 16, 2010, and the Tapps are currently getting settled and making a home in the city of brotherly love.
While she’s not the type of girl who dreamed about her wedding since she was a little girl, Tiffany knew her favorite color purple would be incorporated into her big day. She and Darryl settled on gray as the perfect accompanying shade.
Tiffany fell in love with her Kenneth Pool wedding gown when she spotted it in the window of a Voletta Couture bridal boutique in Seattle, Washington.
As if she didn’t shine enough, Tiffany added a little extra glam to her look with these shimmery shoes.
Tiffany recommends that brides ask their photographer to suggest a makeup artist that he or she has worked with. That’s how she found Nadia, who added an extra touch of beauty to the all the ladies in the bridal party.
The bride found a gorgeous floral arrangement on TheKnot.com. She took a screen shot of it and sent it to Disney’s wedding florist, who replicated it beautifully.
Knowing just how hideous some bridesmaids gowns can be, Tiffany decided to get her girls cocktail dresses from her favorite store, BCBG. “I wanted them to be able to wear them after the wedding,” the new wife explains. “They looked fly.”
The bridesmaids walked down the aisle with elegant bouquets of white roses, their stems wrapped in ribbon.
“I definitely had my guard up for quite some time,” Darryl said about looking for love. When he saw that Tiffany was solid gold, he had no other option but to open his heart.
Tiffany didn’t know until she watched the wedding video that Darryl chest-bumped all of his groomsmen who had all worn sunglasses and danced down the aisle before the ceremony began.
Darryl got his queen a princess cut diamond surrounded with micro-paves. He made sure that the ring was set close to her hand instead of mounted, so his athletic lady wouldn’t have to remove her bling when she’s working out.
Tiffany almost walked down the aisle in a different dress. She originally bought a Melissa Sweet A-line gown, but knew it wasn’t the one, she says. She was excited when she stumbled upon her dream dress. The detailing is to die for.
The bride enjoys a moment of silence before heading to the altar.
Darryl shakes hands with Tiffany’s father as he gives her away, knowing she’s in good hands with his new son-in-law.
Tiffany chose a thin, platinum wedding band to compliment her engagement ring, While Darryl added some bling to his masculine ring.
The new husband and wife take their walk into marital bliss with smiles on their faces.
A fun touch: wedding guests remix rice-throwing and blow bubbles at the happy newlyweds instead.
“This new chapter is awesome!” Tiffany says of being a newlywed.
Tiffany’s folks welcome Darryl into the family.
The newlyweds weren’t able to sit through a tasting for their wedding menu. Luckily, the food was spectacular, they both said.
Darryl boogies down with his mom at the wedding reception. The two danced to Anthony Hamilton’s “Moment In Love” when it was time for them to take a spin.
The Tapps’ gorgeous four-layer cake also boasted four flavors—almond with tropical mouse, chocolate with raspberry moose, yellow cake and carrot cake.
Tiffany and Darryl say they’re open to having kids but they’re leaving the family decisions to God.
“We’re going to let the man upstairs handle that,” Tiffany giggles.
The newlyweds, posing with the groom’s new family, have great examples of long lasting Black love to look up to. Darryl’s parents have been together since they were 12 years old and Tiffany’s parents recently celebrated their 29th year together.
“It still feels kind of weird saying she’s my wife now,” Darryl admits.
“I’m looking forward to every day with Tiffany,” he says. “It’s been a blast so far.”
As the newlyweds begin to make Phily their new home, they’re looking forward to a new addition to their family—a havanese puppy named Fancy.
“I look forward to supporting him in his endeavors,” says Tiffany. She’s ready to hold him down through his football career and in his future efforts, once it’s time to exit the field.
