Bridal Bliss: Terrel And Jennifer's New Orleans Wedding Was White Hot!

“I thought my best friend was hosting a New Year’s Eve party at her house for family and friends. It was actually an engagement party that everyone knew about except me. Some of my college besties even came into town under the guise of just wanting to hang out in Chicago for New Year’s. Close to midnight, one of my friends asked everyone to go around the room and say what they were grateful for and looking forward to in the new year. Terrel was the last to go and that is when he proposed.”

“My dress was Nurit Hen,” Jennifer shared. “I went to a few places to look for dresses initially with my best friend, mom, mom in law, and aunt. I liked a lot of dresses but didn’t pull the trigger. My mom and I later went to a small dress boutique with just the two of us and I fell in love with the dress. It was the first dress that I really felt like a bride in.”

“Awkward, actually,” said Terrel of being a groom. “I’ve been in over 10 weddings so it was really weird at first. But once things started I was anxious to say I do.”

“Terrel is very caring and a great friend,” said the bride of her groom. “He also keeps me smiling and is very easy on the eyes.”

“My matron of honor was my childhood best friend of over 20 years, Chanel. The rest of my bridal party consisted of close friends from home and college: Asheena, Niki, Kiara, Rachael, and Ashley,” said Jennifer of the lovely ladies in her bridal party.

“It felt great,” Jennifer revealed about her experience as a bride. “When the weather started affecting our plans I was a bit stressed, but after everything fell into place it was the most fun I ever had.”

“Jennifer is a beautifully created woman, inside and out,” said the groom of his bride. “She makes me a better person every day.”

“My father walked me down the aisle,” said the bride. “I have a great relationship with my dad and there was no question as to who would escort me.”

“Complete love,” said Terrel of how he felt to be looking into Jennifer’s eyes at the altar. “I felt at peace but at the same time nervous.”

“I felt so in love and grateful,” said the bride of her experience at the altar. “I teared up repeating the vows.”

“As cliché as it sounds, he does complete me,” said the bride. “We have very different personalities that complement each other. He is also a good friend and really values the relationships in his life.”

They did it!

Jennifer and Terrel started their reception off right with a second line–complete with a brass band!

“My bridesmaids carried bouquets of white roses with small greenery at the base.”

“I was completely surprised! I had no idea whatsoever that he was going to propose but I was so happy.”

“I knew she was the one after the first date,” said the groom. “Her big heart and unselfishness to help others plus her brains and beauty are an understatement as to why I wanted to make her my wife. Plus, her cooking!”

“Terrel had two best men, his best friends from college and home, Errol and Duane. The rest of his groomsmen were a mix of college friends and friends from home: Fred, Lonnie, Ronald, Ed, and Shamar.”

“We had a three-tier almond flavor cake with strawberry filling and white buttercream from Gambino’s bakery. The top two layers were white and the bottom was a metallic gold. We wanted a clean, classic looking cake. We decided on the flavors after receiving samples from the bakery. The cake was delicious.”

There is no denying that the bride and groom were too happy and so cute on their wedding day!

For their first dance as husband and wife, Terrel and Jennifer shared a moment to Kindred the Family Soul’s, “Stars.”
