The chemistry between them was so intense that just eight months later Phil was on bended knee giving Nicole the best Christmas surprise ever – a sweet bedtime proposal. See their romantic wedding day and share in their love!
“My wedding dress was designed by Mori Lee,” says Nicole. “I had been looking for a dress for the last three years, because I knew I would be a picky bride, and I found an amazing one and placed it in my favorites email folder for that special day.” Smart bride!
“I wore Swarovski crystal chandelier earrings, a Movado diamond-laced watch given to me as a surprise gift from my groom, Kate Spade pearl, satin open-toed shoes with a fully blinged out heel,” says Nicole. “I also wore a special diamond bracelet that was a gift for Phil on the day of the wedding, a specially made gold anklet with a diamond left for me by my maternal grandmother, a special made garter out of my mother’s original wedding dress lace and a 2-tier shoulder length veil that was laced in diamonds and pearls.”
“I chose red roses for my bouquet laced with diamond and pearl brooch pieces for a fabulous finish, because it gave the elegant look that I was going for,” says Nicole.
“Phil embodies everything that I prayed for,” says Nicole. “I said yes, because Phil was made for me and I was made for him. We are true friends and soul mates.”
“He and I knew that it was divine providence for our lives to be intertwined, so it was so easy to say yes to him, because I truly believe he is my lifelong partner to stand by my side as we approach the future challenges and opportunities,” says Nicole.
“She has everything I could ever ask for in a wife,” says Nicole. “She has the looks and the brains, the ambition of a leader and the humility to allow herself to be led in our home. She puts God and family first and has time and again proven that she knows who she is and will not allow her foundation to be compromised.”
“I cut my hair specifically for my wedding into a special style that my hairdresser designed just for me to frame my face, but left just enough for my veil to be attached securely,” Nicole explains.
The groom wore a custom made tux from Harry Lelani in Florida. His jacket was cream with a black satin shawl lapel and matching cream and black satin lapel vest, while his custom made tuxedo shirt was lined with rhinestone buttons. His groomsmen wore black tuxedos with wide peak satin laced lapels from Men’s Warehouse.
“I found the bridesmaids dresses from an online retailer at LightInTheBox.com,” Nicole shares. “They were long, black, chiffon dresses laced in silver and black sequins with a triangle cut out in the front and a thigh-high split on the left leg. I knew that black was timeless and classy, and the length, fabric and style were perfect for our ‘bling and elegance’ theme.”
A large bridal party always means a lot of love and support for the happy couple on their big day. Nicole and Phil were surrounded by all of their closest friends and family members. (Who were dressed to perfection for their modern elegance theme.)
“Phil is smart and endearing,” says his loving bride. “He is compassionate and friendly. He is caring and steadfast. He is honorable and full of so much integrity and moral goodness. He has an amazing heart that is not easily compromised, and he stands for what he believes in and supports those he loves in spite of how he may be treated in return.”
Nicole’s pretty, pretty bridesmaids posed for gorgeous pre-wedding portraits with the stunning bride. We love the stair shot. It’s always an instant classic.
“Phil is my rock, the one I can confide in when the times get tough, the shoulder I have to lean on when I feel the load is a little too heavy and the lover I always prayed for to keep me grounded,” says Nicole.
“She and I have a shared understanding that marriage is not the destination, but another big step along the journey of life,” says Phil. “We understand love isn’t a finished product at ‘I do,’ but rather something that requires work and effort throughout a lifetime.”
“I love the man I married, and I would marry Phil again day after day after day, and I tell him that often,” says Nicole. Aww! we absolutely adore this picture!
“She is everything I could have asked for in a woman,” Phil tells us. “She’s beautiful and intelligent. She’s ambitious and confident. She’s loving, caring and compassionate. She’s there to rub my back to let me know things will be okay and she’s there to give me the motivation I need to press forward.”
“She knows how to put her foot down, but she also knows when we need to be on the same page,” Phil shares. “She’s more than just my wife. She’s my best friend and life-long partner.”
“I love that he is true to himself no matter what,” Nicole shares. “I love that he has a heart for people, and a heart for me. His compassion is amazing and his attention to detail, especially regarding me, is astounding.”
“I have always loved the ambiance of The Chrysler Museum of Art,” explains Nicole. “It was my dream wedding location and I was overjoyed that it was available because the museum had been closed for two years prior to the summer of the year we were married. It was fate!”
“My daddy walked me down the aisle because he is the first man I have ever loved with all of my heart,” Nicole shares. “There was no question as to who would walk me down the aisle, because that moment was always reserved for him and only him.”
The bride marched to “Bridal Chorus” by Wagner played by the Harbor String Quartet when she went down the aisle.
“I was in heaven that day,” says Phil. “There were a lot of emotions swirling around that day. I was just happy that we were finally becoming a family.”
Nicole and Phil chose “Always and Forever” by Heatwave for their romantic first dance song.
Two hundred guests showed up to celebrate Nicole and Phil’s love.
“The one thing Phil made sure that we picked together was anything involving food, from the menu selections (mentioned above) to the flavors of the cake,” says Nicole. “We had so much fun!”
The couple’s custom gobo light lured their party guests onto the dance floor.
“I love that she’s always in my corner encouraging me and comforting me,” says the groom. “Even though we’ve only been married for a few months, there have been some rocky roads we’ve had to traverse. And along every step, she’s always been by my side.”
