Host With The Most
During their final semester of their senior year at USC, fate brought Madia and Rod together. He had just returned from studying abroad and lived in Madia’s close friend’s apartment building – the same friend she’d studied abroad with the year before. That winter, instead of celebrating Valentine’s Day, their mutual friend hosted a “Single’s Awareness Day” party instead. Both Madia and Rod showed up and as she’ll tell you, they’ve been “inseparable ever since.”

Work and Play
One Sunday morning Madia was on set for a photo shoot for an indie project she was producing at the time. While shooting her last look, she heard the sound of a mariachi band in the distance. “I was confused, and thought that surely they were in the wrong part of the building,” she recalls.  “Then Rod came through the door, and it wasn’t until he dropped to one knee, with everyone filming and a mariachi band playing Canciones de Amor (songs of love), that it registered what was happening.” Rod popped the question in a big way and Madia shed uncontrollable tears of joy as she accepted. “I know we were together for seven years prior, but it was something I wanted to happen organically and not because I brought it up or pressured him,” Madia says of Rod’s proposal. “I couldn’t even see the ring through the tears.” Rod had blown her away with his attention to detail and grand gesture. “It was the greatest surprise of my life,” she tells us. “And, my ring is gorgeous!”
