The bride and groom’s love story all started in 2012 when she saw a picture of him on Facebook. Instantly thinking he was easy on the eyes, the 26-year-old substitute teacher sent him a friend request and he slid in her DMs in the smoothest way possible. After officially going out on a date, the sparks flew and their happily ever after began. Take a look at their gorgeous June nuptials that incorporated soft, romantic hues for a wedding we can’t get enough of.
Bride: Reneé Alexandra Thomas, 26, Substitute Teacher
Groom: Chavez William Grant, 29, Police Officer
The Big Day: 6/10/17
Location: Renaissance Hotel, Plantation, Florida
Style/Theme: Soft Romantic
“Surprisingly, I was remained calm the day of my wedding,” said Reneé. “I thought I would be an emotional wreck, but I was anything but that. I couldn’t believe that day had finally come. I truly felt the love from everyone. I was so ready to see my soon to be husband. My wedding day was definitely all I dreamed it would be.”
Chavez coordinated with two of Reneeé’s best friends to pull off the perfect proposal plan that involved an agent, a strip club, and her parent’s house!
“Once we arrived at my parent’s house I got out of the car, walked inside and there he was…surrounded rose petals and candles in a shape of a heart bended on one knee. Family and friends in the background with soft music playing. At that moment he asked me to be his wife, and of course, I said yes!”
“It felt great,” said Chavez. “Although I was mainly concerned about my bride enjoying her day, I enjoyed it as well. It was a great experience and I had a lot of fun. It wasn’t something I expected so soon, but when the day came and was honored and wouldn’t trade the feeling for the world.”
“I knew it was the one as soon as I tried it on,” said the bride of her gorgeous Vera Wang wedding gown. “The dress and veil fit my romantic theme.”
Chavez described his bride as, “Gorgeous, compassionate, nurturing, loving, beautiful, generous, pretty, respectful, kind, selfless, strong, honest, amazing, mine.”
We asked the bride to describe her groom and the answer was everything!
“Honest, loving, caring, selfless, hard-working, and FINE!,” Reneé said.
“My father walked me down the aisle,” said the bride. “My father is such a hard working man & the epitome of an astonishing husband. I couldn’t imagine anyone else by my side but him.”
“When you love someone wholeheartedly there isn’t just one thing you love the most about that person,” said the bride of loving her groom. “There are many components. I love how he loves me. He’s so caring. So ambitious about our love. His love towards me makes me want to love him even more.”
