On New Year’s Eve 2016, after almost three years of dating, Andre got down on one knee and asked for the bride’s hand in marriage. “I thought I would be very ready for the moment he proposed, whenever it happened, but surprisingly I was in a state of shock!,” the bride admitted. “I was so happy and overcome with emotion. I couldn’t stop crying!”

“I consider myself traditional, but I had no idea I would end up opting for a traditional lace ball gown. I’d gone to a bridal shop a week prior with a good friend to try on dresses. The gown I choose was the 2nd dress I tried on. Once I put that on, I could feel it was it, just as she could! The ladies in the bridal shop, as well as others who were shopping stopped to give me the co-sign that the ball gown was the dress!”

“It felt absolutely amazing to be a bride. I haven’t ever felt so loved and so beautiful. My family and friends went out of their way to make sure I felt special on such a momentous occasion. That feeling was everything and I can undoubtedly say it was one of the happiest days of my life!”

Kimberly and her bridesmaids look fantastic as she prepares for her big day!

“Andre is genuinely a good person, not only to me but to his family and friends,” said the bride of her groom. “He loves me unconditionally and truly has such a big heart. He will do almost anything to make me happy!”

“I’m the biggest Daddy’s girl and couldn’t have imagined that moment any other way,” said Kimberly of having her father walk her down the aisle. “That was such a special moment I’ll never forget.”

“Well, I had to dry my eyes first, just to see her! It was a surreal moment,” said Andre of being at the altar with Kimberly. “We’d been through so much and to finally have the honor of about to call her my wife was like a dream come true.”

“I’m a hopeless romantic, so I did think I’d find true love, but I certainly didn’t think I would find it how I did,” said the bride. “The fact that it came so unexpectedly made it all the better!”

“She fulfills me in every way,” said the groom of his bride. “She is truly my better half. Where I fall short, she easily fills in the gaps. She is my voice of reason, my support system, and the reason I smile.”

We absolutely love the color of the bridesmaid’s dresses! Great choice, Kimberly!

“I chose to make Kimberly my wife for the fact that she loved me for me. With all of my imperfections and flaws, she loved the core of me, said Andre. “However, she always challenged me to be a better version of myself in every aspect – physically, mentally, and most importantly spiritually.”

“I know its cliché, but I honestly said yes because he really has shown himself to be my best friend, and I couldn’t imagine going through this journey of life without him by my side. He isn’t perfect by any means, but he is truly my person. He also makes me laugh hysterically – the kind that hurts my side!”

For their first dance as husband and wife, the bride and groom shared a moment on the dance floor to “So High” by John Legend.

“Our wedding cake was so beautiful and was one of the most complimented pieces of the night. It was a 5-tier cake with white, gold, and wine accents. The decorative touches of the tiers were: white with gold border, gold sequins, gold with white design, wine with gold border, and the bottom tier was gold. Andre isn’t a huge cake person, so he allowed me free reign with the flavor. At the cake tasting, I fell in love with vanilla with salted caramel filling, so that was the main flavor served. I also served a sheet cake of my all-time favorite – strawberry!”

Kimberly had her sorority sisters surrounding her with well wishes on her big day!

“I absolutely thought I would find true love,” said the groom. “You find out so much about a person when you cannot offer them anything but your heart. One night we were at dinner at a local restaurant and we had a moment when we kissed like no one else was there. I knew she accepted my heart.”

“I can’t put my finger on exactly when I knew he was the one, but I can describe the feeling more. Very early into our relationship Andre gave me a feeling of security and forever friendship more than I’d ever known. He let me know he would always be here for me, and that he was certainly here to stay.”
