Model Anansa Sims and insurance agent David Patterson have never wanted to spend a second apart from each other since the day they met. The two lovebirds got hitched in a regal wedding in Columbus, Ohio on July 10, 2010. Share their love.
Anansa and David’s wedding ceremony was held at the First Congregational Church in Columbus, Ohio, where David grew up. It was very important for them to be with close friends and family on their big day.
Anansa’s mother, supermodel Beverly Johnson, and David’s mother Leesa Patterson helped the bride with her hairdo on her wedding day.
“I’m in hair and makeup all the time,” the professional model says. “I didn’t want to have a make up artist or a hair person at my wedding. I wanted to look like myself. I wanted to do my make up and my moms could do my hair. I wanted it to be intimate.”
After her mother and mother-in-law headed down the aisle, Anansa’s best friends Talani Diggs and Shaya Bryant helped her with her veil.
“I always had an idea of what I wanted to look like on my wedding day,” Anansa admits. “I wanted a princess style dress. The dress that I chose fit me perfectly. I didn’t need any alterations.”
Anansa wore an Oleg Cassaini gown down the aisle.
Anansa and David read their own vows on their wedding day. “When David read his vows, there was not a dry eye in the house,” Anansa said. “I’m so glad that we wrote our vows. It was so personal and it really captured how much we loved each other and what we both felt in our hearts.”
The couple’s gorgeous floral arrangements were created by Russ at Griffin Floral Design.
“It was such a beautiful kiss to kiss my husband,” Anansa muses about kissing her spouse for the first time.
Anansa says she “felt like [she] won the Super Bowl,” after she said “I do.”
“He has always been honest and real with me and he’s always considerate of my feelings,” Anansa gushes about David. “He cherishes me and would do anything for me.”
The newlyweds stand with their proud mothers, Beverly Johnson and Leesa Patterson.
“I think being best friends and sharing everything together is great,” Anansa says of being closer than close to David.
“I always felt so safe to love him,” Anansa says of her new hubby.
“Right after the ceremony, we had a few moments to ourselves and we exchanged words about how much we loved each other and how happy we were,” Anansa remembers.
The newlyweds pose near their special table on their big day. Their wedding reception was held at the Columbus Anethaeum.
The couple danced to “Sweetest Love” by Robin Thicke for their first dance.
“It was the song that we felt captured our love and our relationship,” Anansa says, “It felt like the room was still when we were dancing.”
Anansa and David’s gorgeous four-tiered wedding cake was designed by Katie at The Cake Studio in Columbus, Ohio.
David and Anansa hold hands and cute a slice of happily married life from their wedding cake.
For the wedding reception, Anansa changed into a long, more casual gown with sequined details by Allen B. Schwartz.
“We definitely want like three or four kids,” Anansa says of her future with David. “We want to have a big family.”
