Alexis Simone Dimes-Smith, 29, met her dream guy, Ty Antoin Upshaw, 38, in the last place she expected — a barbershop. The two fell in love almost instantly and four years later made it official on June 4, 2011 in Atlanta, GA.
“Throughout our relationship, we have grown together as well as individually,” says Alexis. “We know that with the three strands, God and us, life can only continue to be more blessed.”

Alexis chose pretty pink pumps to add a splash of color beneath her gown.
When Alexis first slipped into this lovely gown by Demetrios she felt it was almost “too pretty” for her taste. Originally she’d wanted a dress with less embellishments, but when she got home this one was all she could think about. She, of course, went right on back to get it.
Ty, an IT Salesman and small business owner, comforted Alexis during her emotional reaction to his heartfelt proposal, but once she’d calmed down, he had to ask, “So babe, is that a yes?”

Alexis’ grin was mighty wide too. These two were radiating so much happiness and joy.
Both Alexis and Ty feel that her mom, his grandmother, and God, worked together in heaven and had a little something to do with them being in the same place at the same time the day they met.
Alexis kept her bridal party intimate and well-dressed. Their grey cocktail gowns are modern, sophisticated, and romantic.

Alexis and Ty honeymooned in the Riviera Maya. “It was the most amazing time that we ever had. We laid on the beach, parlayed by the infinity pools, and fell in love with each other more and more each day.”
These guys sure are wearing those suits!

“There are so many things that let me know that Ty was the one,” says Alexis. “If I had to pick one it would be when I saw how he fell in love with our Goddaughter. The way he looks at her, loves her, and will do anything for her, lets me know he’s the man I want to be my husband.”

It’s official!
Officially husband and wife, Alexis and Ty hold hands as they greet guests on their way back down the aisle.
This is by far our favorite portrait of the happy pair. The back of Alexis’ gown is just as beautiful as the front, and there’s an obvious and deep love between she and Ty at all times.
Miami Beach is one of the fun-loving couple’s favorite spots. “We travel there at least twice a year just to get away from the real world.”
Guests stand for the new Mr. and Mrs. Upshaw as they’re introduced at their reception.
“Dancing for the first time as husband and wife was one of my most favorite wedding memories,” recalls Alexis.
The new Mrs. lovingly shoves cake into her husband’s mouth. Look how much fun they’re having. What a happy couple!
