News broke today that Moonlight actor Trevante Rhodes is allegedly engaged to be married and women everywhere (especially me) are clutching our pearls. First Idris Elba, now Trevante? Hold my mule!
The news hasn’t yet been confirmed by the couple, though it appears a family member was the first to share the news via her Instagram story. In the snapshot, Rhodes and his wife-to-be embrace as a diamond ring is seen on her left hand. A banner that says “congratulations” is scrawled over the photo. Pass the tissue because the heartbreak is real!
The lucky lady is fitness model Mara Wright, who is signed to Wilhemina Models. According to her Instagram, she is of German and Black ancestry, is based in Los Angeles by way of Chicago and has acted in a few short films.
We’re of course happy for these two. But we’ll admit we’re a little bit crushed. Based on the Twitter reactions, we are not alone. Single ladies everywhere are devastated out in these social media streets.
