Teyana Taylor and Iman Shumpert’s love story unfolded in the most beautiful way possible, and we love that they’ve brought their fans along for the ride.
The couple originally met in 2014 while they both were healing from a breakup. Initially, Taylor had her reservations. But they became friends and, eventually, so much more. In September 2015, the couple announced they were expecting a daughter together, got engaged that fall at their baby shower and welcomed their daughter in December.
Even though we proudly put them in the Black Love Goals category, Taylor humbly suggests that all she and her husband are trying to do is show the good, bad and in between of marriage and parenthood. “Were here to inspire couples,” Teyana told ESSENCE exclusively. “People see the glitz and glamour. That’s 10% [of it.] They don’t really get to see that 90% of the blood, sweat and tears.”
