Do Right Men 2007: Franklin-Livingston

Franklin Livingston HOME BASE: Little Rock, Arkansas PROFESSION: Firefighter DOING RIGHT: When he's not dousing flames, Franklin works part-time at the nonprofit treatment center, Youth Home Inc., counseling at-risk adolescents with behavioral problems. That's not all. Livingston, a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., also helped with his local chapter's health fair for the elderly and residents of halfway houses; and still found time to move his mother and his 26-year-old sister who has Down syndrome into his brand-new home. "I'm not looking for a reward for something I'm supposed to do," says Livingston. "As I get older, my work gives me a sense that I'm doing something that matters."
