On “The Game,” actor Pooch Hall plays Derwin, the God-fearing NFL rookie-turned-star quarterback. We had a crush on him the minute we saw just how deep his love for high school sweetheart Melanie (Tia Mowry) ran.

The Massachusetts-born Aquarius’ character may have plenty of drama with the ladies, but off-screen he’s always been a one-woman man. He is 100 percent devoted to his wife Linda Hall, who he met at UMass Dartmouth,and their three children: daughters Djanai and Djaeda, and son Djordan.

When Hall’s not developing his acting chops, you’ll most likely find the fitness nut in the gym or boxing. He once considered a career as a professional middleweight boxer during college, but (thankfully) chose to pursue acting instead.

Southern cutie-pie Hosea Chanchez originally hails from Montgomery, Alabama, and brings ladies’ man star player Malik Wright to life on “The Game.” Chanchez’s resume goes way back. He began his career at the young age of 18 with a reoccurring role on “For Your Love.”

Hosea Chanchez has often described the “Malik” character as as his alter-ego. Far from the self-assured, “party boy” athlete he plays, Hosea would much rather spend time with family and focus on his other passions: literature, art, and music.

When Chanchez stopped by the ESSENCE offices, he was all smiles as he shared his excitement about the fifth season of the show and how proud he is of the work he and his castmates (whom he also calls close friends) have done time after time to make the show the success that it is.

Although actor Coby Bell plays uptight, cheap, and arrogant former player Jason Pitts on “The Game,” we can assure you that he’s much more loveable in real life. He’s funny, smart, and a devoted family man, who tells us when he’s shooting in Atlanta he flies home every single weekend to spend quality time with his wife and four kids (two sets of twins!).

Cali-born cutie Bell launched a career in acting right out of college, and his talents helped him earn starring roles on “Third Watch” and “L.A. Doctors.” If you think he looks familiar, it’s most likely because you remember seeing this gorgeous face in reoccurring roles on shows like “ER,” “Half & Half,” “Smart Guy” and “Buffy the Vampire Slayer.” There’s nothing sexier than a talented, gorgeous, family man. Ladies, wouldn’t you agree?

Actor Barry Floyd took what should have been a small role as Malik’s tag-along childhood friend Terrence “Tee Tee” Carter, and turned it into one scene-stealing performance after the next. He may not be listed on the main roster, but Floyd’s talents are impossible to miss.

We’re glad to see “Tee Tee” and his cluck truck are back in season five. Here’s to hoping this season he gets a serious love interest of his own.
