For Jephte Pierre and Shawniece Jackson, first comes marriage, then comes love, then comes a baby in a baby carriage!
The Married At First Sight stars announced during the Monday night “After the Decision” episode that they have a bundle of joy on the way.
“I know that you wanted to take baby steps in the beginning, but now we can actually take baby steps together because we’re having a baby,” Jackson told her husband “I’m nervous and scared.”
The couple met and married in the sixth season of the Lifetime series and the news about adding a little one into their lives definitely came as a surprise.
27-year-old Pierre told PEOPLE that while the pregnancy announcement from his 30-year-old wife was a shock but he’s excited about being a dad.
“My first thoughts when I found out she was pregnant was ‘Whoa, are we ready for this? Is our relationship at a point where we can handle being parents?’ Although we are married, our relationship is very new.”
The school teacher added, “[A] baby is always a blessing,” he says. “And that’s what we took it as — a blessing! [I’ll be a] corny father who jokingly embarrasses his kid in front of his or her friends.”
No word as to one the couple will welcome their first child but many congratulations!
