New York Fashion Week has been one continuous date night for Kehlani and YG, who made their brand new relationship Instagram official this week.
The new couple was seen leaving the KITH runway show holding hands. When asked by reporters if their appearance together meant they were officially in a relationship, Kehlani confirmed the news with an “mmmhmm” captured by TMZ cameras. Shortly afterward, Kehlani posted a photo of the two cuddling at dinner with the caption “cats out the bag.” We see you sis!
YG returned the love with a photo of the two with the nickname “Baelani.”
Little is known about how exactly Kehlani, 24, and YG, 29, first met. However, the singer revealed on Twitter that their relationship had been five years in the making.
Kehlani also told WWD that she and her new bae hadn’t planned to debut their relationship right when cameras first spotted them. “We were very frustrated,” she explained. “But we had planned to pop out anyway. We’re not trying to hide — it’s love. The paparazzi just caught us. It happens.”
The couple has more in common than just their obvious love of tattoos. Both artists are from the West Coast (Kelhani is from Oakland while YG hails from Compton), and they’re also parents. YG has two daughters from a prior relationship: Harmony, 4, and Vibe, 2 months. Kehlani gave birth to her daughter Adeya in March with ex-boyfriend and guitarist Javaughn White.
