Tammie, an Army staff sergeant, is one-hundred-percent sure she’s found her true soul mate in Sherman, a retired Marine, who she met at a military event. “We both have a passion for life and a very giving character,” she says. “We both believe in seizing the moment when life hands you opportunities to be happy.”
“We pray together often,” said Tammie when we asked what some of she and Sherman’s most favorite things to do together are. “We also shop too much, like to catch our favorite shows, and catch a movie or spend a quiet evening at a fine restaurant — doing something fun with our kids too!”
“My mother absolutely adores him; my friends wish all men treated women the way he treats me,” says Tammie about her man. “His family loves me as well. They love me for keeping a smile on his face; something they hadn’t seen much of after he was injured in the Marines.”
“Both of us believe in God and place Him at the center of our existence,” Tammie tells us. “We learned a lot about ourselves, what we want, and don’t want, from our past relationships.”
Sherman says it’s easy to love Tammie because there’s so much to love. “Her beauty, her sense of humor, and her spirituality” are just a few of the amazing qualities she possessed that made him fall instantly head over heels in love.
After Sherman proposed to Tammie in the living room in front of their children, the entire family went out for a big celebratory dinner at a fancy restaurant. “That night, I held him close to me and let my mind simply wander as I envisioned our life together,” says Tammie. “How things would change for the better for both of us.”
When wedding planning gets tough, Tammie can always depend on her loving and supportive husband-to-be to save the day. “When it gets overwhelming, I can count on Sherman’s decisiveness to ease the stress.”
“When we exchanged our first kiss, we planted the seeds of devotion to each other,” Tammie remembers. “It was at that moment that I knew I was in love with him, and it was later that evening that he revealed he was ‘sick in love’ with me.”
There’s isn’t a moment that doesn’t feel incredible when Tammie and Sherman are together. Many of their fondest memories are both big and small — they’ve been to the White House together to meet President and Mrs. Obama in person, taken amazing trips to Puerto Rico and Kings Dominion with their kids, and shared great laughs in the kitchen while she made him a home cooked meal.
Sherman knew instantly that he had found the prize of a lifetime in Tammie. “I found her absolutely beautiful, smart, caring, and funny,” he tells us. “Definitely someone I could see myself being with forever. Never before had I met a woman who possessed every characteristic I looked for in an ideal partner for life. She is my perfect 10, diamond of a woman, and its’ something I tell her as often as possible.”
