Rebekah and Zachary met at a church Christmas dinner. They didn’t know it then but their love was meant to be. After six months of long distance love the lovebirds are ready to unite as one.
Rebekah wasn’t sure about a new relationship at first but soon changed her mind. “Things were very rough when I met Zach and so I honestly didn’t give him the time of day because I was focused elsewhere, “says Rebekah, but her man knew what he wanted. “He was persistent, and told me that he was willing to wait until I got over the other guy.”
Rebekah says although it wasn’t love at first sight she felt something special after talking to him on their second meeting.
Rebekeh describes her man as, ” Brilliant, God-fearing, Passionate.”
Zachary popped the question at church! “Zach has always said that he was going to testify in church about how we met. So I went out to visit him for Valentine’s Day and after bible study on Tuesday night, he started talking about how we met. Then asked me to stand, which I ignored. Finally I stood and he walked over and got on one knee.”
Zachary says he’s most excited about getting closer to his lovely lady. “I’m looking forward to not being separated by 2000 miles anymore. We have our best moments when we’re together.”
Zachary reveals that it was an argument that let him know Rebekah was the one for him. “I was so heated and then I realized that I couldn’t go long without talking to her and hearing her voice. That’s when I knew,” says the groom-to-be.
Zachary came through for Rebekah when it mattered the most. As her father’s health rapidly and suddently declined during one of their dates her husband-to-be stepped up. “Zach refused to leave my side (though we were not dating yet), and we were together when my father took his last breath. Family members who had never met him before told me he was a keeper…I knew from this day, that he was the man for me.”
Rebekah’s family is on board with her choice for a life partner. “My mom loves Zach and says that he’s a great guy. She has been calling him her “son in-law” for a while now,”she says.
“I think I will be an emotional bride,” says Rebekah. “I had the best father in the world, so I suspect the most important day of my life without him will be very hard.”
“I love that she is caring and ambitious and that she takes the time to relate to other people. But most of all I love how we are able to just hang out just like best friends would. Our ability to laugh together and also connect on a deep level then go back to laughing all in the same convo,” says Zachary.
Rebekah and Zachary will have a “Southern Chic” themed wedding complete with charcoal, teal and lemon accents. Lovely!
Rebekah reveals that although they’ve worked through the distance, she’ll be glad to put it behind her. “I am looking forward to being able to see my husband every day and wake up to him,” says the bride-to-be.
The lovely couple will be wed on May 9, 2015 at New Beginnings church (how appropriate!) in Lithonia, Georgia.
Rebekah says the best gift that Zachary has ever given is far from material, “Zach loves really hard so giving me his heart means that I will never want for love.”
The happy pair plans to soak up the sun in the Dominican Republic for their honeymoon.
