After being set up on a blind date, Rachel and Milton were reluctant to meet, but they wound up hitting it off famously. Three years later, they’re still crazy in love and ready to wed. “On our first date we had an instant connection,” says the bride-to-be. “He made me laugh the whole night and I knew then that he was definitely someone special and someone that I wanted in my life.”
Rachel was straight forward with Milton about what she wanted. “On our first date I did let Milton know that I was looking for something serious and I was not interested in causal dating for the hell of it.”
“He made me laugh the whole night on our first date, but he also listened to every word I said,” Rachel says of her attentive husband.
“I was looking for something serious. However, I was not on a desperate hunt to find love,” Rachel says. “I trusted that God would guide the right man in my life at the perfect time.”
“He did not want to go on the blind date with me because my father at the time was a well-known pastor in the city of Memphis,” admits Rachel. “[However] Milton says his friends encouraged him to go out with me after scanning my Facebook page.”
Here’s a funny story from our bride-to-be: “Last year for Milton’s birthday, I took him to dinner. As we were walking to the table I realized the floor was slippery. And, just as I had that thought, I slipped in front of a few tables. Milton and I laughed about that moment all night once I safely arrived to the table.”
“I loved how clever he was and how quickly he was able to think on his feet [when we were together],” Rachel says of her future husband’s sense of humor.
“I know that Milton will be my cheerleader when things are going well and he’ll encourage me during the rough times. I will certainty do the same for him!” Rachel says.
“From the first time that I met Milton, I knew that he was special,” says Rachel. Aww!
Rachel reflects on the time she knew Milton was the one: “I didn’t know where the relationship was going to go, but I felt that if I was good to him, then he would be good to me,“ she says.
“We truly enjoy being in the company of one another and communicating face-to-face,” says Rachel.
“I am a tenacious woman that goes after what I want,” says the future bride. We’re glad it helped her get her guy.
“On our first date, our conversation and chemistry came naturally and effortlessly,” says Milton. “We laughed and talked as time flew. The next day, I could not stop thinking about how I truly enjoyed her company.”
“We both have a love for working out and wanting to maintain our bodies for each other,” says Rachel.
“I love her passion, her drive, and her spirit,” Milton says about his lady.
“Milton is the man for me because he accepts me fully for who I am and allows me to be true to myself,” Rachel says.
“My future will involve my best friend,” says Milton of his upcoming wedding day.
“I am looking forward to having a life partner,” says an excited Rachel who’s counting down the days to her wedding day.
“Knowing that we will be together through life’s ups and down has me ecstatic with anticipation of our future,” Milton says.
