The Lucky Lady: O’Shea Jones, 31, Law Firm Administrator Her Leading Man: Shawn Guillory, 31, Government Contractor The Big Day: October 6, 2013 How They Met: They were both students at Georgia State University and wound up working the same part-time job.
What was your first impression of him? When I first saw Shawn my friend and I had a “Girl! Did you just see that dude? He was so fine!” convo as soon as we could get far enough away! LOL.
What was his first impression of you? Shawn says his first impression of me was love at first sight. He said that he knew the moment he saw me that I would one day be “his!”
At what moment did you know he was “The One” for you? I had a secret that I had never told any of my boyfriends before him because I was embarrassed. Once I felt comfortable with Shawn, I told him, and he thought my secret was cool. I knew right then and there he was the one.
Did you play hard to get? Oh boy did I ever! He tried to speak and I ignored him and pretended as if I didn’t see him at first. That lasted all of a good month before I was putty in his hands!
Who said “I love you” first? After all that playing hard to get, I will admit that I was the one that said it first!
How long did you date before you got engaged? Shawn and I dated on and off for close to ten years. But you know what? I wouldn’t trade anything about it now because I feel like there are no surprises when it comes to whom I’m marrying. I know this man, and this man knows me. I know his strengths and his weaknesses, and he knows mine. His proposal was amazing! I would go back and redo the entire ten years to have it play out exactly as it did. It was perfect and I am still on cloud nine from it.

How did he pop the question? Shawn is currently working overseas and only comes to the states 30 days out of the year. He came for a visit in January. But a couple days before, it was difficult to reach him. Nevertheless, once he arrived here at the Atlanta airport, I was thrilled to see him. The next day, I went to work and Shawn asked me to come home for lunch. He had been acting strange all day though. Once I got to the house for lunch he told me that we had to go to Piedmont Park. At this point I was frustrated, hungry and confused as to why we are in the park. By this time, Shawn told me he had been in the states for the past three days because he went to Texas to talk to my father. He had asked permission for my hand in marriage. He then got down on one knee and presented me with the most beautiful ring.
Why is he the best man for you? Shawn is the best man for me because we truly compliment each other. Where I am weak he is strong, and vice versa.
O’Shea and Shawn’s passion for each other really shines through on film. Although they won’t say “I do” until next year, she says she’s already perfectly planning every little detail of their big day.
What do your friends say about him? They love the way that Shawn loves me!
What do your parents say about him? My parents love Shawn. They have already accepted him into our family as if he were also their child.

What kind of wedding are you having? I am having a beautiful, classic evening wedding with draping and chandeliers and tulle! My colors are peacock and berry, and the men will be in dark grey tuxedos. I plan to have amazing food and great music and I will incorporate Shawn and my favorite things throughout the ceremony and reception. Hence, our theme: “These Are a Few of Our Favorite Things.”
