Pre-K coordinator Marlana, 27, met her fiancé Corey, 36, in the parking lot at church. Once they locked eyes, it was clear that the chemistry brewing between them was undeniable. After pursuing her for a month, Marlana finally agreed to go on a first date with Corey. That was all it took. He asked her to be his wife five years later in front of her entire family. Now they’re altar-bound this winter. Can you feel the love?
“I knew that Corey had bought the ring, but I was caught totally off guard the day he proposed,” admits Marlana, who says she can’t wait to be his “Mrs.”
“All of my friends love him,” says Marlana. “They all have funny nicknames for him like ‘Jahiem.’ They know that if they ever need any help, their big brother will step up and help them.”
“Corey is the best man for me because he is my best friend,” Marlana gushes. “He knows when to and when not to. He knows why and why not. He is my rock. Most importantly, he strives every day not to make me happy, but to add to my happiness.” How sweet! Marlana, does he have any brothers?
“My ring is a set,” Marlana explains. “It has a slight vintage flair and it’s a one-of-a-kind, custom-made style that Corey got in New York City. It has three types of stones: round, baguette and emerald. We looked at a lot of rings but he made the final decision.“
“She cares for me in a way I’ve never experienced before,” Corey tells us about his lady love Marlana.
“I am most looking forward to enhancing each other’s happiness for the rest of our lives,” says groom-to-be Corey.
“I believe Corey chose to marry me because I am what he’s never had before — a partner in life,” says the smitten bride-to-be.
Corey impressed Marlana’s parents from the very start — a huge plus in her book.
Marlana and Corey will tie the knot in North Carolina this December. Their wedding will have a peacock color theme with a “dash of bling.”
“My future husband is tall, handsome and smooth,” says Marlana.
“Thankfully, our future in-laws are already in love,” says Marlana. Corey popped the question in front of almost 30 members of her family on Mother’s Day.
