How did you meet your man?
I attended the same church as Chris’ parents and family. One summer afternoon at a BBQ gathering, his parents approached me and began to ask questions. They were interested in finding out more about this young lady from Mobile, Alabama that they had seen at church. After discussing tons of topics with them, his mom began texting Chris and telling him she had someone for him to meet. Chris and I eventually talked on the phone and the connection was instant although he was in Denver at the time. Our friendship grew through endless phone conversations. We talked night and day for three months. We finally met after the NFL season ended once Chris came back home to Connecticut for the off season. From that point on, we were inseparable!
Were you looking for love at the time?
I was dating at the time I met Chris, but he came in my life and swooped me away! He had all the qualities I was looking for in a potential mate. God is good!
Best vacation you ever shared?
The best vacation we’ve taken together so far is to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. This was our first destination vacation together and we were able to experience this adventure with my sister and brother-in-law. The resort was beautiful and we participated in excursions like ATV driving on the beach and swimming in caves.
Favorite film to watch together?
It’s actually Baggage Claim. This was the movie we went to see the night we got engaged. At the time, neither Chris nor I realized that the movie was all about proposals and getting married. Throughout the movie, I noticed Chris biting his nails and shaking a bit. I had no clue what Chris was planning in just a few hours. We enjoy watching the movie and reliving the engagement night.
How did he pop the question?
Chris planned a Miami getaway during the Washington Redskins bye week. The entire four-day trip was perfect. The night of the proposal we relaxed on the balcony and enjoyed taking in the beautiful ocean view, Chris and I then headed inside and began discussing our future and how much we love each other. At this moment, Chris was down on both knees with a box in his hand (he later joked that he wasn’t sure which knee to get on so he got down on both). I can’t even remember his words but I began to cry and ask, “Is this really happening?” I said yes. My proposal wasn’t just a moment; Chris planned an unbelievable engagement proposal trip to go with it.
