Second to his heart, Essence loves Nicolas’ lips. “They’re full just like mine — no skinny lips here!”
Essence says her first impression of Nicolas was that he was fun and easy to hang out with.
Nicolas says he’s most looking froward to, “sharing my world with the woman I love.”
“I love that my future husband is a man of God, to have a partner I can pray with is priceless!”
“She didn’t come off as wanting a relationship, but I changed that!”
The happy couple will be tying the knot in Essence’s hometown of New Orleans at the Royal Palms. They say the wedding will be simple, classy, and chic.
“Our most romantic date would have to be when he surprised me with dinner at this really nice restaurant on Boston’s harbor,” shared Essence. “After dinner he then surprised me with tickets to Cirque du Soleil which was happening right across the street from the restaurant.”
Nicolas was the first to drop the L-word. “He did it during one of our trips to Maine,” shared Essence.
“I’m most looking forward to being an amazing wife and eventually an amazing mommy.”
Essence says her friends all liked Nicolas and were plesantly surprised by his height. “I had a history of dating guys shorter than me,” explains the 5’8 bride-to-be. “So when found out he was 6’4 that was an automatic win for him!”
Essence said her chusion cut halo engagement ring is the best gift Nicolas ever gave her. “I picked the setting and he picked he diamond,” she said.
Essence admits that she may have played a little hard to get. “He thought I wasn’t interested in him and just wanted to string him along until I finished grad school. He actually had no intentions in going on a third date (miniature golf) but I told him we had to go back to play because they gave us free passes to go back.”
“My mom always says ‘he’s such a nice guy’ and my dad is always asking ‘where’s Bro. Nick?’ that’s the nickname my dad gave him,” shares Essence.
Whether it’s just talking to her or trying new adventures, Nicolas says spending quality time with his bride-to-be is his favorite thing to do.
Essence says if you were spying on them on a Friday night you’ll probably catch them at home watching a cooking or wedding show.
Essence and Nicolas plan to honeymoon in Riviera Maya, Mexico. Three things you can find in their suitcase? Red wine, a bible, and business cards, “we network 24/7,” says Essence.
