“The attraction and chemistry was instant,” soon-to-be wed April tells us of the moment she knew Caleb was the man for her. “My feelings and emotions moved so fast that I tried to slow things down, just because I wasn’t sure if this thing I was feeling was permanent. But emotions are uncontrollable. Within weeks he had my nose wide open.“
“One year for our anniversary we went to Chicago for the Jay Z and Beyoncé concert with another couple,” says April. “Then we had a romantic getaway in the suburbs of Chicago, just the two of us. It was the best weekend ever!”
“I love that my future husband is just as silly as I am,” says April. “He makes things a lot lighter and easy.”
“I knew after our first lengthy conversation that I had to have her and never wanted to let her go,” says the groom-to-be.
“I love April’s personality,” Caleb shares. “She has a great sense of humor and makes me laugh.” One of the couple’s absolute favorite things to do together is watch movies. “I love anything that involves hanging out with her,” he adds.
“We’ve been ring shopping a few times so he could get an idea of the kind of ring I wanted,” says April. “I wanted a round diamond with a halo and band with diamonds. I got exactly what I wanted!”
“When we’re finally husband and wife, I can’t wait to have children,” says the bride-to-be.
What made Caleb fall in love with April so fast? “She made me feel safe,” he explains. “I was able to be myself with her and didn’t have to always entertain her. I could breathe.”
“I would thank her grandmother, whom she considers her mom, for taking on the responsibility of raising her,” Caleb says. “I would thank her for spoiling her but not spoiling her rotten and for instilling in her a big heart and independence. She truly raised the perfect woman for me.”
“We communicate well and our favorite way to do it is to really talk,” says April. “Whether it’s an easy or difficult conversation, we talk!” We can imagine Caleb isn’t hard to talk to. His soon-to-be bride tells us he’s “generous, protective and kind.”
“We are having a very romantic, formal, yet untraditional wedding,” April explains. “I like a lot of candles and lighting. My favorite color is dark purple and we added some blue to bring a spring feel to the room. And our theme is ‘picture perfect’ because that’s us.”
“We are going to Cancun for our honeymoon,” says excited bride-to-be April. “We like to party so I see a good time ahead of us.” Will she a bridezilla? Not a chance! “Although everyone expected me to be a bridezilla it has been the complete opposite,” she says.
“Looking into her eyes on our wedding day, I will feel excited knowing that she’s mine for the rest of my life,” Caleb predicts.
“April was different from all the other women I dated,” Caleb recalls. “She gave me a sense of comfort without a hidden agenda. I trusted her immediately. More than any other woman I’ve ever dated.”
