Care to rumble with this African boxing champ? Well stay on your toes ladies, because 29-year-old Nigerian cruiserweight, Hollywood Hino is a knockout! Step into the ring ladies.
Hino, whose full name Ehinomen means good angel, emigrated to the U.S. from Nigeria when he was 13. He got into sports to make friends and sort of fell into the ring. “Boxing chose me,” he shrugs.
The sexy slugger’s not all about boxing. A born performer, he’s an aspiring actor whose already made a few appearances on TV in “The Contender.” He pops up on our screens again spending time with Joumana Kidd on “Let’s Talk About Pep.”
There’s nothing shy about Hollywood Hino. He loves to show his personality in and out of the ring.
“I’m a big time entertainer,” Hino admits. “That’s what they come for. I give them a show.”
Hino loves New York, but when he’s getting ready for a match he has to leave the city that never sleeps alone. He heads to training camp in Orwell Ohio to get away from all the distractions.
“You have to isolate yourself,” Hino says of prepping for a fight. “You’ll get distracted if you let distraction in. Take away my phone, my computer and my TV and that’ll turn me into a caveman.”
The life of a boxer’s girlfriend is not for everyone Hollywood Hino, who’s still single, confirms. He needs a lady who can handle the attention from other women and who won’t trip when he heads away to training camp for a month or two.
“A lot of girls say, ‘oh yeah, I can handle the lifesty’le,’ when they really can’t,” Hino says. “I think I need an A-lister.”
Hollywood Hino reps Africa hard. He’s marked with a tattoo of the continent on his back.
“I live by it. I die by it. I love being African,” the heavy hitter says.
Hino said he had a great time kicking it with Joumana Kidd, who came to visit him at the boxing gym while they were taping the show, on “Let’s Talk About Pep.” “She’s really cool. We partied hard and we had a good time.”
Just because he’s a performer, don’t expect him to be tap-dancing around you all the time. This knock-out needs a chick who can stimulate him too.
“A lot of time when I look for that entertainment back, I don’t get it,” he complains.
Ask Hino what kind of girls he likes and he’ll quickly say he likes them tall and thick. “I love thick girls,” He smiles. “I’m not even going to deny that.”
The 6-ft-tall charmer says ladies fall in love with his personality. “Women love to laugh and feel good and I do that for them,” he says confidently.
Hino keeps Vaseline on hand to protect his pretty face when he goes to battle. He claims that aside from one bloody nose early on in his career he’s never been cut.
Catch Hino on “Let’s Talk About Pep” tonight, Monday February 15 at 10:30 EST and visit him at HollywoodHino.com.
