Throughout the year, major cities around the world become the backdrop to a special pop-up dinner known as Dîner en Blanc. On Monday night, New York City’s Governors Island became the location for a special all white affair. Among the 6,500+ people in attendance, one man decided to turn the dinner into a night he will alway remember with help from The Knot, the number one digital wedding brand.
Joel Griffith and Jasmine Nunez of Washington, D.C. were selected by The Knot for a unique opportunity to get engaged in a big way. The couple always had interest in attending Dîner en Blanc, so Joel and The Knot worked on surprising Jasmine with a trip to New York City. The couple’s travel and accommodations were set, seats at a prearranged and catered table at Diner en Blanc were planned and Joel was ready for his big moment to ask Jasmine for her hand in marriage.
The coordinated moment when Joel went on the main stage to propose to Jasmine, included a curated special presentation during Diner en Blanc, providing Joel with a moment to pause the dinner and get Jasmine’s full attention. As Joel stepped onto the sound stage the party immediately quieted down and the band stopped playing. Jasmine jaw dropped in complete shock to see her man on stage sharing their love story with the entire crowd. She then joined him on stage where he asked Jasmine to marry him.
Congratulations to the newly engaged couple!
