Joe, 28, first laid eyes on Tiffany, 28, at her surprise birthday party, but never got a chance to say "Hello." When he saw her again at his birthday, he felt it was the best gift ever. He wooed her for months before she realized he was exactly the man she’d prayed for. They were married on July 14, 2012, in Durham, North Carolina, in a modern, outdoor occasion to be remembered. Share their love!

Tiffany stepped into a lovely pair of Badgley Mischka pumps to walk down the aisle on her big day, and for her “something borrowed,” she wore her grandmother’s wedding band. (Her grandparents have been married for 62 years!)

The couple tied the knot on a very special day: the mother of the groom’s birthday.

“I decided to wear my hair out of my face because I didn’t want to take away from the ruffle strap detail of my dress,” admits the lovely bride. Doesn’t she look absolutely stunning in that gown?

“Joe is everything that a woman wants,” says Tiffany. “I knew he was the ‘The One’ because he is romantic, very thoughtful and has the biggest heart.”

“We knew right off that we wanted the wedding colors to be Tiffany blue and sunshine yellow,” says Tiffany. “The two paired perfectly. I also wanted to do this because my name is Tiffany.”

“We knew that the yellow would pop nice on the girls, and the Tiffany blue would look handsome on all of the guys no matter what,” says the bride who put a lot of thought into the optics on her big day.

“There is no other man in this world for me, and I was sure of that from the start,” says Tiffany. Aww!

“We knew that whatever the guys wore, we wanted them to buy, not rent it,” says Tiffany. “We also knew that we wanted them to wear a tan linen look. The funny thing is, the groomsman were never too concerned with the attire. They would say, 'Whatever we wear, we know it will be fly.'” The couple lucked out and found the men’s suits on Overstock.com for only $100 each.

Tiffany’s bridal party strutted their stuff well in their stunning yellow Mori Lee bridesmaid gowns. “I wanted the girls to wear something that would complement my dress, and the focal point of my dress was the ruffles,” she says.

“I am known for wearing one strap dresses,” admits Tiffany. “It’s almost my signature style. I believe when you find something that fits and works for your body, go with it. I found my Maggie Sottero dress online about a month after I got engaged.”

“I have always wanted to have an outdoor wedding, so the only thing I looked at were outdoor venues,” says Tiffany, who married Joe on The Lawn at the American Tobacco Campus in Durham, North Carolina. “The first time I saw the location, I said to my fiancé and planner. ‘I must get married on this lawn!’”

Tiffany called on, not one, but three little ladies to help introduce her to her guests.

Joe entered the ceremony to the romantic sounds of “You” by Jesse Powell, and beautiful bride Tiffany marched down the aisle to “For You” by Kenny Lattimore. Excellent choices!

“OMG, I cried,” admits Tiffany, who was escorted down the aisle by her dad. “I lost it as soon as I hit the aisle. I was so overjoyed. At that moment, I realized I was finally about to spend the rest of my life with the man that I prayed for.”

Joe’s brother-in-law served as the couple’s wedding officiant. During the ceremony, the couple shared vows, lit a unity candle to unite their families as one and incorporated the reading of 1 Corinthians 13 because they felt it was the core of their marriage. “Love is many things, but more than anything, true love never fails,” Tiffany says.

“Looking into his eyes, I replayed the last eight years of our life together while thanking God for a dream come true,” Tiffany says.

It was all about lemon yellow on Tiffany and Joe’s big day. They even served fresh lemonade at a custom stand during the reception.

“I’m so in love and so proud to be his wife,” says Tiffany. “He won me over, and eight years later, he’s still doing those same type of things.”

“With Joe, I am loved, secure, complete, sure, adored, free, valued. Understood, appreciated, overjoyed, unconquerable, and most importantly, blessed,” says Tiffany. Sounds like a true keeper!

“We wanted something very different, non-traditional and very fun,” explains the bride. “It was easy to stick to the plan because those three words describe us.”

“We walked in and fell in love,” Tiffany says about the first time she walked into the spacious Bay 7 venue with Joe. “The sky light was out of this world and the space was perfect for our vision.”

Tiffany and Joe lucked out and scored an all-inclusive catering package that included all of their lovely wedding day floral and design arrangements. Now that’s what we call a good deal. Look how lovely everything came out.

Tiffany and Joe made quite a splash when they entered their reception as Mr. and Mrs. Brickhouse for the first time, jamming to the sounds of “Brick House” by The Commodores. Excellent choice, you two!

“Our wedding cake was a simple, four-tier, lemon chiffon cake with white buttercream icing,” says Tiffany. “To add a little flavor, every other tier had a berry filling. It just worked so perfectly. The guests are still talking about it.”

“I attended a law school graduation at Bay 7,” admits Tiffany. “While I was there, I said to myself, when I get married, my reception has to be here.”

To save money on flowers, the budget-savvy bride wisely chose to incorporate lemons and limes into their centerpiece décor.

“Our wedding décor was very simple because we believe less is more,” Tiffany admits. “We took advantage of the natural décor present.”

For their first dance, Tiffany joined her new husband Joe on the dance floor to sway to the smooth sounds of “You Were Meant for Me” by Lalah Hathaway.

Tiffany and Joe chose a “floating” style reception to encourage their guests to interact with each other, dance together, eat and drink, all while having an amazing time. To create this effect, they purposely didn’t put out enough chairs for every guest to be seated at once. “We didn’t want to have one of those weddings where all people did was sit,” admits Tiffany.

Guests were given lemonhead candies decorated in white organza bags as wedding favors.

“Being that my ceremony dress was so heavy, I knew I wanted to change during the reception because I wanted to get my party on,” Tiffany says. “I found another dress I loved to wear to the reception.”

“Joe took responsibility in regard to my son and I,” admits the happy bride, shown here busting a move with her son Jalen at their reception. “The kind that some grown men would never do.”

“The man that I married is more than my husband," says Tiffany. “He is my best friend and the person that I can lean on and talk to anytime, no matter what the issue is.”

When it came to the entertainment, Tiffany and Joe didn’t miss a beat. They had a deejay and a photo booth during the reception, a live saxophonist throughout the day and special activities just for the kids. “We also did an anniversary dance for all married couples,” she tells us. “The last couple standing was the couple that had been married the longest.”

“The moment my sorors serenaded me was a favorite,” says Tiffany, who’s a member of Delta Sigma Theta, Inc. “You look forward to that moment from the day you become a member of the organization.”
