Jasmine, 38, a talent acquisition consultant, and Reginald, 45, a development officer, were married on April 2, 2011 on the banks of the Mississippi River at Tunica Riverpark Museum.
When it came to coordinating their wedding details, Jasmine and Reginald didn’t miss a beat. Their letterpress invitations set the stage for their elegant riverside affair.
Jasmine puts the finishing touches on her wedding day beauty as she prepares to meet her soul mate, Reginald, at the altar. We love her crystal tiara.
Reginald is a proud member of Omega Psi Phi fraternity, so he made sure to have some paraphernalia around on his big day.
The bride carried a stunningly beautiful bouquet of eggplant calla lilies tied with purple, double-faced, satin ribbon, and cinched with an antique brooch.
Guests stayed at the local casino hotels during the couple’s wedding weekend. Their wedding rings were photographed on a room key to create what we’re sure will be one of their favorite keepsake photos.
Jasmine’s loyal bridesmaids wore bright purple evening gowns made by Allure, and her junior bridesmaid rocked a similar gown in a lovely shade of lavender.
Delta Sigma Theta diva Jasmine captures the moment with her soror.
Reginald and his fraternity brothers show off for the cameras. Can you feel the (Greek) love? We love that both the bride and groom incorporated aspects of their Greek pride into their special day.
Jasmine chose lush bouquets of lavender roses, hypericum berries, and greenery for her bridesmaid’s bouquets.
Reginald’s ability to make Jasmine feel safe and comfortable no matter what is just one of the many reasons she was sure, almost instantly, that he was, in fact, The One.
The happy couple never looked at any other wedding venue besides this idyllic one they chose. “Before Reggie and I were engaged, my father gave us a tour of Tunica, Mississippi and he took us to the Tunica Riverpark,” recalls Jasmine. “As he was driving the winding road leading to the river park, I knew it was where we would wed.”
Reginald waits patiently for his bride Jasmine to arrive at the altar. The way this pair looks at one another absolutely melts our hearts.
Jasmine and Reginald savor the sweet kiss that made them officially husband and wife.
The beaming bride swaps smiles with her guests as the happy newlyweds make their way back down the aisle together for the first time as husband and wife.
After falling for each other over the phone on the Fourth of July 2009, Jasmine and Reginald met face-to-face for the first time. “I was impressed with his straight forwardness and his gentle soul,” she tells us. “Before we met, he emailed me a poem, which I still read from time to time. A month later we were an item.”
When the couple set out to find the perfect wedding location they were drawn to the Riverpark Garden. “I love gardens and nature,” says Jasmine. “Plus, Reggie and I both grew up in small Arkansas communities and the garden reminded us of our small hometowns.”
Jasmine and Reginald stop to grab a seat following their sweet ceremony to reflect on the magic of the day — something we recommend all couples make time to do at their wedding.
Guests greet the new Mr. and Mrs. Hameth with cheers and applauds as they enter their picturesque reception space.
Jasmine stuns from the front and the back in her gorgeous sweetheart cut gown by Casablanca. “My seamstress made special changes to the neckline to make it special just for me,” says Jasmine.
During Jasmine and Reginald’s wedding weekend, all advice and wisdom were welcome. The couple put out these lovely blank cards for guests to leave their well wishes and kind words. A sweet idea they’re sure to look back on to help them relive the memories again and again.
The lovebirds chose an eclectic and vibrant palette of crimson (to represent her Delta Sigma Theta Sorority color), purple (to represent his Omega Psi Phi fraternity color), lime green (for their shared love of nature), and ivory. It really made their personalized details pop.
We love the way the couple chose to go with organic elegance for their centerpiece displays. The combination of branches and blooms at varying heights made for a picture perfect dinner conversation piece.
“We had three long king tables for our 130 guests to be seated,” says Jasmine. “Each table had a variation of either white hydrangeas in silver mint julep cups, submerged orchids, and floating candles, or large arrangements of white and magenta dendrobium orchids and curly willow.” The result was absolutely lovely. The crimson and purple work so well together, don’t they?
Beautiful fondant phalaenopsis orchids draped the couple’s elegant four tier round cake. Once the cake was cut, guests were treated to three delicious flavors of fun to choose from buttercream, strawberry, and red velvet.
“I love candles and I wanted our reception to be filled with the glow of the sunset and the candles,” says Jasmine. “We were wed on the river and one of the walls in our reception area had floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the river.”
Reginald holds his new wife close on the dance floor as their closest friends and family look on in awe.
In keeping with Delta Sigma Theta tradition, Jasmine’s sorority sisters gather around her and sing their organization’s hymn.
The romantic purple lighting really helped to set the mood for love during Jasmine and Reginald’s lounge-themed reception. Guests young and old partied until the wee hours of the morning with the fun-loving bride and groom.
