When it came to Nick Cannon and Chilli, the guessing game was on about the status of their relationship. After appearing in a steamy setting to shoot Nick's video for his song, "If I Was Your Man," the rumors of a new coupledom between he and the TLC singer were definitely on. It didn't help that they were often seen rather close and cuddly while out and about this summer but as it turns out, the two are just friends and only that.

We love the thought of Nick Cannon and Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas as an item, but they still haven't gone public or confirmed their relationship.

In a recent interview, serial entrepreneur admitted that there is definitely magic between he and the TLC singer.

“Everybody’s going crazy because they’ve seen all this stuff with Chilli and I,” Nick shared with Rap-Up. “And the chemistry is undeniable.”

Nick Cannon revealed how Chilli became his leading lady in the steamy new video for “If I Was Your Man."

The collaboration came to fruition in the studio where Nick laid down the lyrics to the song which features a sample of "What About Your Friends" for the hook.

As the foundation of the song came to life, he dropped the line, “Hat to the back, swagged out, lookin’ like Chilli."

Which he admits was an ode to the crush he had on the singer.

“I put that line in there just freestyling, not knowing what would come about,” he revealed. “A couple of weeks later, I was like, ‘Yo, how crazy would it be if Chilli was my love interest in the video?’ I put the call in, she said yes, and the rest is history.”

The chemistry that the two display in Nick's upcoming music video, makes us wonder if it's just acting or is it real love?

"I believe chemistry is real. I believe energy and vibrations are a real thing. Art imitates life and vice versa," he admits.

Only time will tell if this music video imitates real life.
