Welcome to Cape Verde
Cape Verde is an archipelago made up of 10 volcanic islands that sit in the central Atlantic Ocean. Its vibrant culture reflects the country’s Portuguese and African heritage. In fact, the official language spoken by Cape Verdeans is Portuguese, however, most locals speak Cape Verdean Creole (Kriolu) a rhythmic spin-off. If you’re planning a visit, the best time to go is between November and June.
While there are many attractive lodging options in Cape Verde, the Oasis Praia Mar Hotel located in the capital city of Praia, boasts stunning cliffside views overlooking the sea, which makes it the perfect pick to kickback and unwind.

Island living in Cape Verde means that your dining experiences will include delicious seafood pulled fresh from the ocean, daily, by local fishermen. Be sure to try the country’s national dish, Cachupa, a hearty stew made with beans, corn kernels, vegetables, and fish or Lagosta Suada, steamed lobster.
