Carnival in Trinidad is a vibe, and from the looks of it no one had a better time at the annual event this year than Ashanti.
The 38-year-old R&B singer took the Caribbean island of Trinidad by storm for her very first Carnival experience, and to perform her single “The Road” with legendary soca phenom, Machel Montano.
From performing with Montano at Hasely Crawford Stadium for Machel Monday, to hanging with icon Fay-Ann Lyons, fete hopping from sunup to sundown, and finding her tribe with the Yuma Vibe band for Carnival Tuesday — to say Ashanti lived her best life is an understatement.
Experiencing “mas” in Trinidad as a first-timer can often be overwhelming, but the songstress handled it with ease. Oh and…that body! Let’s just say we’re all dropping the doubles and picking up the healthy meals so we can look as good as Ashanti for carnival in 2020.
