The parents-to-be get ready to welcome guests at their baby shower at the Sugar Factory in West Hollywood.
Vanessa’s parents Justine and Rev. Run share the love. “My dad was actually really excited because this is the first grandchild for my family,” Vanessa told ESSENCE.com.

“I was so overwhelmed with excitement that I actually started having contractions at the end of the shower,” Vanessa tells ESSENCE.com. “Luckily, it was just false labor. My little girl has quite a sense of humor already.”

The couple created a bar area that served Mommy Mixers, special mocktails for moms-to-be.
The Sugar Factory left no sweet tooth untouched.

The elaborate cake was designed by Special Cakes By Ruben complete with blinged-out rubber ducks.

“This was such a joyous event for Mike and I and our families,” Vanessa tells ESSENCE.com. “The room was filled with so much Love and Laughter all in Honor our lil Angel.”
Friends, and sis Angela Simmons, could help but “rub-a-dub” on her gorgeous belly. Vanessa enjoyed Mommy Mixers mocktails while her pals sipped on Zing Vodka cocktails.
