Are you ready to 1,2 step back into shape? All it takes is a whole lot of commitment and a rock-solid fitness regime. Just ask Ciara.
The singer and mother of two has been dancing and involved in sports practically all her life, which is partly the reason for her insanely fit body. But after giving birth to her two children, Future and Sienna, it was an uphill battle to drop the pounds.

In fact, Ciara says she gained a whopping 60 pounds during each of her pregnancies. “I ate so much,” she recently told InStyle. “Fries, mac and cheese, corn bread. I wanted stuffing when it wasn’t even Thanksgiving … I’m a Southern girl. We like to eat!”
Even though it may have seemed like CiCi effortlessly snapped right back into her pre-pregnancy body, it actually took three workouts per day and strict dieting to shed the baby weight. Her postpartum fitness routine, designed by celebrity trainer Gunnar Peterson, consisted of morning weight lifting, afternoon high-intensity cardio, and evenings spent bike riding. This all happened simultaneously as Ciara nursed her newborn daughter. “I would wake up in the morning, breastfeed, eat a small meal, go train, come back home, pump, eat a small meal, breastfeed, eat lunch, and then go train again,” she remembers.
These days, she maintains her figure with daily 90-minute workouts and chugging through gallons of water. “I truly believe that self-love is key,” she says of her healthy lifestyle. “And my definition of self-love is taking care of myself.”
Clearly the hard work is paying off. Ciara recently had our jaws on the floor with the sultry photos she shared from Brazil carnival. Rocking a tropical bathing suit and traditional headpiece, the Atlanta native showed up and showed out!
