Turkey may get all the shine, but everyone knows that when it comes to a Black Thanksgiving table there’s really only one star – mac and cheese. Not everyone in the family can be trusted with this sacred holiday dish, because in a Black household, there is no room for error, fake cheeses or raisins in our mac.
So why is this dish so high up on the pedestal? What makes a really good mac and cheese? And more important, is mustard allowed? The ESSENCE team decided to get to the bottom of this age old debate – and get a head start on some of that holiday goodness.
