Howard University has produced generations of trailblazers from Thurgood Marshall to Kamala Harris and the late actor Chadwick Boseman. Heaven Epps, daughter of rapper 2 Chainz, is set to join a prestigious pipeline because she will start classes at the institution this fall, and her parents couldn’t be more proud.
Heaven, who just turned 17, has been accepted into Howard’s criminology program as part of the class of 2030. The freshman is ready to start her collegiate career as her mom, Kesha Ward, shared on Instagram recently.
“I’m so proud of you, Heaven. You are truly a sweetheart. You have given me nothing but joy these wonderful 17 years on this earth, and I thank God every day for blessing me with you. I’m also so grateful He surrounded you with such amazing friends who came over and decorated for you. We love you, Heaven💜🦬,” the caption read under a picture of Heaven sitting in a room decorated with Howard swag.
As a devoted mama, Kesha, also known as Pea, has had the chance to spend some time with her firstborn on campus and posted a few snaps in February.
“There will be many more days like this @howard1867 HU 🦬 #babybison❤️💙,” she captioned the series of photos.
The news of Heaven going to Howard first broke back in December when Pea shared a screenshot of the acceptance letter.
“Screaming to the top of my lungs,” she wrote, before thanking Howard University and declaring Bison pride for the whole timeline to see.
This is the longtime couple’s first child. They also have another daughter named Harmony, and a son named Halo.
2 Chainz and Kesha have always emphasized the importance of education, so it makes sense that Heaven is headed to Howard at 17. They invest heavily in their children getting top-tier education, shelling out thousands on private school fees. In 2022, the award-winning artist had people talking when he revealed he’d be paying a total of $96,530 on tuition fees for all three kids that upcoming school year. The rapper has spoken firsthand about how quality learning shaped him. He attended Alabama State University on a basketball scholarship.
Kesha and 2 Chainz have a long history. They’ve been together since 2006, but decided to legally bind their love by getting married in 2018 after he proposed on the steps leading up to the Met Gala that same year. They seem to work well as a unit and are taking it, as the kids say, when it comes to this parenting thing.
