This weekend, Kim Kardashian West went all out for Halloween and dressed up every single day. On Saturday, the reality star dressed up as late R&B star Aaliyah, and Twitter wasn’t happy at all.

West recreated Aaliyah’s look from her “Try Again” video and wore a bedazzled bralette and pants with a matching belt and choker. She also styled her hair straight and wore smoky eye makeup to emulate the singer. The look was actually reminiscent of Keke Palmer’s tribute to Aaliyah for Halloween 2015.

While West may have nailed the look, many felt like the star was guilty of cultural appropriation for dressing up as the late Black singer. Keep reading for some of the backlash the reality star received on Twitter:

However some people on Twitter didn’t think West’s costume was offensive at all.

Aaliyah wasn’t the only iconic singer West dressed up for this Halloween. On Friday, she dressed up as Cher and her best friend Jonathan Cheban accompanied her as Sonny. Last night, she and her sister Kourtney Kardashian went as Madonna and Michael Jackson.
