2016 marks President Obama’s last year celebrating Father’s Day as the 44th President of the United States, and he spent it visiting one of the country’s most infamous landmarks with his family at his side.
To celebrate the special day, the First Family traveled to get an up close look at the breathtaking views of Yosemite National Park in California’s Sierra Nevada Mountains. First Lady Michelle Obama, along with daughters Sasha and Malia Obama, hiked the world famous Yosemite trail as the President led the way for his final Father’s Day as the leader of the free world.

A photo of the foursome visiting Yosemite was shared to the First Lady’s Instagram account on Sunday with the caption “Happy Father’s Day.”
In addition to making a family memory out of the trip, President Obama also visited an excited group of fourth grade students and gave a brief speech on climate change with Yosemite Falls as the backdrop, according to The Daily Mail. “I want to make sure that the American people are able to enjoy the incredible national parks, the incredible beauty, the mountains, the oceans that have been one of the greatest gifts that we’ve ever received,” he said in a Facebook video about his trip. “And I want to make sure that the whole world is able to pass on to future generations the God-given beauty of this planet.”
The Obamas arrived at Yosemite National Park on Friday and spent the weekend taking in all of the beautiful sights before heading back home on Sunday.
