The actress made press rounds for her new film, Spider-Man: Far from Home, in fiery red tresses and now, her new look has everyone buzzing about the film that hits theaters July 2.
In the flick, Zendaya plays Michelle, Peter Parker’s (Spider-Man) potential love interest whose story you’ll have to wait to see play out in the movie next month.
We don’t want to give too much away, but it’s obvious that “Michelle” is not MJ. Still, Zendaya pays homage to Spider Man’s infamous red-head lover by dying her hair in a matching color-way.
Fans had hoped the 22-year-old’s switch-up from auburn hair to the crimson hue was due to a potential new role as Ariel, in Disney’s live-action remake of The Little Mermaid. The actress put an end to the speculation with a tweet: “MJ homage.”
Unlike Zendaya’s previous hair transformations, she dyed her natural hair with semipermanent color instead of rocking a red wig.
