“The super high pony gives a great reason to whip your hair during parties,” says Shorter. “Smooth hair all toward center or crown area, secure with a bungee band, for added sass add a clip in ponytail either straight or wavy in your matching color”

Oversided Topknot

The super sized topknot is fun, flirty and fiesty—perfect for NYE! “Perfect for the extra girly dresses,” says Shorter. “Smooth hair all toward center or crown area, secure with a bungee band, for added volume, add a clip in ponytail either straight or wavy in your matching color. Gather ponytail and loosely wrap around bungee until you have reached the ends, tuck ends under and secure with hair pins”

Faux Undercut Side Braid

A cool way to add edge to any style is a faux undercut side braid. “Make a deep side part and clip fuller side away,” says Shorter. “On shallow side, braid hair in a cool pattern to compliment you. Release other side and rock your look!”

Sleek Slick Back

The wet look adds instant shine for the party. “In straight hair, part hair from ear to ear and clip top away,” says Shorter. “Using a light liquid hairspray, spray hair from root to tips spraying heavier toward roots and comb hair back, continue this section by section until you have reached the front. Hair should dry within minutes.”

Add a ponytail like Kelly’s for added fun.

Half Back Half Down

This look is great for casual parties. And, you can even add another ponytail in the back like Zendaya’s. To get the look, “part hair in the center, pull one side straight back, lift a section of hair begin ear and pin the front piece behind ear and secure with pin,” says Shorter. “Release the section above ear to cover hair pins. Repeat on other sid.”
