Natural hair was everywhere! From TWAs (teeny weeny afros) to massive fros! I felt as if I was attending a natural hair show. It was great to see everyone represent their beautiful curls. I couldn’t stop looking. It brought joy to my heart seeing this!
I spotted some of the most creative updos during the ESSENCE festival. From braided updos, to lcos. The updos were cool, chic, and I am sure it kept the ladies cool from the New Orleans humidity! The creativity was awesome!
I am a fan of all hairstyles and hair types and I am a huge advocate for expressing yourself through your hair. I noticed bold hair colors such as blue, vibrant reds, oranges, etc. I was a great! The confidence and beauty shined through the women that were attending the festival.
I spotted this fab stylist after eating dinner the first night. He was so down to earth and he even told me that his clients have mentioned me! I was so shocked and excited. That was definitely one of the highlights of my trip.
I also ran into people that wanted to touch my hair or take pictures of it. I thought it was pretty cool and I thank all of you for your nice compliments. Everyday I styled my hair slightly different to change up my look. I kept the styles simple and fun.
