Caring for our children’s hair is a huge part of our daily routine. When it comes to caring for your child’s hair in the summer months it is very important to keep hairstyles very simple.

CoWash

Frequent cowashing is also very important since most children spend more time outdoors. I like to cowash my son’s hair everyday during his bath to remove any dirt. I suggest cowashing little girls hair about 3 to 4 times a week. I know the frequent cowashing may seem like a lot of work, but this will help with removing excess dirt and sweat from your children’s hair.

Two-Strand Twists
For little girls I suggest two strand twists or wash n goes with a lightweight moisturizing conditioner. And honestly, this style is perfect for you, too!

Skip Deep Conditioners
I prefer to skip deep conditioning my son’s hair in the summer on a regular basis unless it is after a trip to the pool. Too much conditioner can be very heavy. It is always best to protect your children’s hair before swimming with an oil of your choice to prevent it from drying out in the chlorinated water.
