My Selfie Journey: Lisa Fredero

Lisa Fredero didn’t realize her natural hair texture until she big chopped in February of 2012, now the Baltimore-based Medical Records Coordinator embraces her curls and loves the simplicity of her texture.

Lisa’s Journey

My hair is… natural.

I started my hair journey… to save money and time from relaxers and sitting in the salon. My last relaxer was in November 2009. In February 2012 I did a big chop and later in 2013 I did a buzz cut and absolutely loved it.

My current hair regimen includes… I only air dry. I do not diffuse because my curls look better air-dried. After I shampoo, I deep condition my hair 1-2 times a month.

My favorite hair products include… SheaMoisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie, African Pride Shea Butter Miracle Leave-in Curls, Unleashed Curl Boosting Jelly, Camille Rose Curl Love Moisture Milk and Hask Coconut Monoi Oil

The secret to healthy hair is…making sure you keep up on getting regular trims. Also listening to your hair because what works for one person may not work for you.

My biggest hair challenge is… accepting frizz. I had to give in and listen to my hair because no matter what, curls have the final say.

I love my hair because… it’s different and looks different. I also love the different textures!

My hair crush is… @FroGirlGinny and  @__lipstickncurls__
