For Gabrielle Union life goes on after America’s Got Talent, and it’s sweet. After she was fired from the show, it was revealed that controversial remarks about her hairstyles being “too black” had been made amid toxic work environment, fans and other celebrities poured out love for the starlet on social media.
And while her firing from the show was beyond unfortunate, and the remarks made were deplorable (they’re now being investigated by SAG-AFTRA and NBC), Union appears unbothered on her Instagram.
Since the revelation, she has dedicated her posts to celebrating the positive in her life (her friends and family, her newest launch with New York & Company, her epic baby hairs). Last night, that celebration included a gallery of some of her best hair moments, including styles from the latest season of America’s Got Talent.
In the caption Union wrote, “Unapologetically me. Be comfortable and confident with your whole ass self. It might give others the fluuuxxx but never stop being you. You can shine on your own terms. And if you got something to say I don’t take notes rooted in anti-blackness. I love me as I am.”
In every photo she is happy and thriving. The post has nearly half a million views, and a little more than 2,300 comments, many from A-List supporters of the actress. Contrary to what she was told, there seems to be many people out there who love how Black her hair is. Haters will hate, but apparently they can’t stop this star from shining.
