When Kelly Rowland debuted a sleek bob last month at New York Fashion Week we couldn’t help but notice—it was a complete 180 degrees from her long, flowing locks.
When asked about her new look, the award-winning singer confessed it was actually an accident. “I tried a color experiment myself and thought the color was semi-permanent, but it was permanent,” she says. “I ended up keeping the color on too long, damaging my hair and compromising the texture—so I needed a chop!”

The style icon isn’t only putting a fresh spin on hair, she’s the new “Fabulista” for Caress Body Wash and is set to encourage women to use fragrance as a way to enjoy everyday experiences. “As an artist, I am always looking for inspiration and to find the beauty in all that surrounds me,” she says. “For me, it starts in the shower with a great fragrance that gets in the right frame of mind.”
Our biggest question: Will she keep her sleek cut for the summer months? “Yes, but I’ll change it up a bit by adding fun clip-in color pieces.” Smart move Kelly, smart move.
