Last night’s 2018 CFDA Awards were the very definition of #BlackExcellence, with many of our faves in attendance at this year’s star-studded event. And while there were endless fashion and beauty moments throughout the evening, the one that truly caught our attention was Oprah’s flourishing edges.
When the media maven and philanthropist presented Edward Enninful, British Vogue’s first Black editor-in-chief, with the Media Award we couldn’t take our eyes off of her snatched ponytail. With a deep middle part and edges slicked down to perfection, Winfrey’s voluminous ponytail was absolute perfection.
Winfrey has long been the epitome of #hairgoals. Her natural hair journey is a legendary one, full of hairstyles that span the test of time. From pixie cuts to shoulder length tresses, she has truly tried it all.
And while many celebrities shy away from giving us a real look into their pregame beauty routine, Winfrey does not. She’s often showing off her natural hair on Instagram including getting her roots touched up with a little color before a big event.
We love that she’s not afraid to keep it all the way real with us, now only if she would let us know what edge control she uses.
