It’s day two of NYFW and the streets are, yet again, the open air runway. With today’s designers honing in on craftmanship such as Campillo, Advisry, and Sergio Hudson, and Off-White taking us back to school in a truly fun and refreshing presentation, the street style energy came to match as people embraced their personal style.
While fashion week is a time to step out in your most impressive threads, there is also something so high-fashion about perfecting and stepping out in your everyday style. The fashionable off-duty editor vibe that can take you from the office to cocktails, or from styling a shoot at eleven A.M. to an outdoor patio by four, will always reign supreme.
Today, we saw more variations on denim paired with tops of all kinds: draping sleeves, brown leather jackets, midi- dresses, and cinch-waist tops. End-of-summer dresses were also in full swing, with floral prints and the likes of Gabriella Karefa-Johnson in a lovely blue number making appearances. June Ambrose graced us with her presence in her staple brimmed hat paired with an oversized suit and tabi flats.
Telsha Anderson-Boone and Naomi Elizée are visions in black and white, proving that the ‘no white after Labor Day’ rule doesn’t stand on solid ground when you have timeless taste. Fashion editor Andrea Bossi checks in pre-show in a fabulously tailored pinstriped pant suit with exaggerated cuffs and collar—an outfit we need to add to cart immediately.
Menswear brought us quite the variety of style as well, from a color-blocked green ensemble, to embroidered sweater vests, cut off button ups, decorative shorts, and chrome embellishments.
