Day three of NYFW: It’s Saturday, it’s sunny, and it’s oh-so fashionable.
A style element we love is the way texture and unexpected pattern come in to elevate standard silhouettes, and that’s exactly what we saw on the third day of NYFW. With Altuzarra, Kim Shui, and Who Decides War on the docket, texture was the through-line on and off the runways. Cropped jacket sleeves made of voluminous faux fur, knit two-pieces lined with fringe trims, a charcoal leather bolero with large metallic buckles, and brilliantly-colored skirts and trousers all added an interesting feel to streetside looks.
ESSENCE fashion editor Robyn Mowatt is dreamy in a white ensemble, styled with a cream belt to cinch a button-up top while her sheer skirt bore sequins in floral-like patterns. Meanwhile, style writer India Roby wore dark pants with drawstring and gathered material paired with an aura-patterend silky button-up of purple-yellow variety. The gasp-worthy electric blue and silver Timberland x Veneda Carter heeled boots made an appearance styled with an equally fun clown-printed top.
Striking warm colors like shades of yellow and orange livened up the bustle between shows as we hurdle closer to fall weather, interrupted by bold graphic tees that added a bit of light fun to the sartorial olympics. A visually-appealing purple cordury jacket paired with royal purple and red crushed velvet pants was a fun sighting as well. There was also, quite a bit of dark neutral colors, autumn’s other favorite end of the spectrum with deep greens, browns, and black garments making repeat appearances.
Following, are all the day three street-style looks that stopped us in our tracks.
